Generalist announced in June this year the completion of the $400 million B round of financing, valued at $2 billion at the time, with Radical Ventures. The most recent amount of money means that the company is again receiving capital additions in a short period of time, and valuations are significantly higher than in the previous round.

The report cites regulatory documents stating that this additional funding is close to $200 million. Neither Generalist nor 8VC responded to the request for comment.

Generalist was founded in 2024 and co-founded by Pete Flores, Andy Zeng, former Google DeepMind Fellow, and Andrew Barry, former Boston Dynamics Engineer. The company's early investors include 8VC, Radical Ventures, Nvidia, Union Square Ventures, Bezos Projects, and AI researcher Li Fei Fei.

Until recently, the company had been low profile and had little open information. As the scale of financing expands and valuation increases, Generalist begins to enter a wider market perspective.

The general robotic model continues to rise. Wen.

Generalist is developing an AI base model that fits different robots. According to the company, the newly released Gen 1.5 model allows robots to learn new tasks through video presentations of only 3 seconds to 12 seconds.

According to the source, the company is currently working with a small number of clients and customizing the model on the basis of feedback to fit specific application scenarios. At the same time, capital is continuing to bet on the general robotic orientation and the ability of robots to leapfrog into similar large models.

The report mentions that the valuation of Physical Intelligence is said to have amounted to $11.1 billion, that the Skild AI valuation, supported by a soft bank, was approximately $14 billion, and that Genesis AI was also negotiated last month to finance the valuation of $3 billion.
