Capital F has completed its first $17 million fund-raiser, which will focus on women's health, digital commerce and AI tools, as defined in the “female economy”-related tracks.
Focus on Women ' s Health and AI Tool
Two co-founders, Margaret Coblenz and Dawn Dobras, said to TechCrunch that this investment theme is mainly directed at markets where women dominate consumption demand. In their view, the importance of AI tools was increasing, inter alia, because women were more vulnerable to online trust and security issues.
13 early companies invested
Capital F invests mainly in early projects, with single cheques between $250,000 and $1 million. According to the agency, 13 companies have been invested, including the telemedicine company Hey Jane, the hormone tracking platform Standust and the sleeping technology company Stella Sleep, which was acquired last year by Google.
Dobras states that projects in the portfolio were withdrawn before the fund was formally mobilized.
Nearly 80% LP are women
Capital F has organized a number of side events in the United States for “interested people” in the process of fund-raising, hoping to attract more women to the Fund. According to the Agency, nearly 80 per cent of the limited partners (LPs) in the Fund are women.
The LP has been disclosed, including Jenny Ming, CEO of Rothys, Marta Benson, former CEO of Pottery Barn, and Gingerbread Capital. The two founders expect that the fund will be fully deployed by 2027.
