Arkham, a chain analysis platform, revealed that the United States Government had transferred a small amount of bitcoin on August 26. The assets came from Alameda Research accounts seized on Binance and Binance.US some three years ago.

This transfer was of concern because in recent months the United States Government had several transfers of encrypted assets in connection with the FTX and Alameda cases. The market usually sees such transfers as part of a follow-up hosting, liquidation or settlement process.

There have been several transfers of related assets in recent months

Arkham had previously indicated in May that approximately $1.9 million, in relation to Alameda, had been transferred to Coinbase Prime, which involved coins such as RNDR, UNI, SAND, MASK and AXS.

Earlier, in July, the government-associated wallets had been transferred to Coinbase Prime in excess of $288 million bitcoin and Ethera. These transactions involve seized assets in multiple criminal cases.

FTX Large scale asset recovery

Arkham stated in 2024 that the United States Government had seized three accounts of Alameda Research in Binance and Binance.US, with total assets in excess of $300 million. This action is part of a broader recovery process, covering total assets of more than $700 million associated with FTX and Alameda.

According to the data at that time, the value of the seized assets in bitcoin alone and sealed bitcoin exceeded $102 million.

There is a judicial mandate for payment arrangements.

In the follow-up to the FTX case, Sam Bankman-Fried was sentenced to 25 years ' imprisonment and was awarded over $11 billion in assets. The United States Department of Justice indicated that Judge Lewis Kaplan had authorized the Government to recover funds to compensate victims.

The information currently disclosed shows only a new chain transfer, and it has not yet been shown that the bitcoin is in the public sale chain. However, the continued movement of government addresses will continue to draw the attention of the market to the pace of subsequent disposal.
