Zcash Developer Zakura has published a encryption and protocol library called Common with the goal of increasing the efficiency of the wallet and the whole node. Following the news, ZEC rose by about 5 per cent at a time, to a price around $838, and stood in a high range since January 2018.

Mobile-end proof that generating speed is clear

The core of this update is to prove the speed of generation. Zakura indicates that the production of certificates on mobile devices can be increased by more than 14 times and the desktop end by more than 5 times. In addition to certification, the speed of Sinsemilla Hash increased by more than 21 times, the speed of the test probes increased by more than 1.5 times, and the zk-SNARK certification increased by 4 to 8 times.

This means that the waiting time for the creation of part of the wallet is expected to be significantly reduced. According to Zakura, some of the scene users may have had to wait more than three seconds before accessing Common, which could in many cases be reduced to less than 200 milliseconds.

Wallet synchronization and nodal dissemination benefits

Zakura states that the new library is open to both wallets and full nodes. For wallets, access is expected to lead to faster synchronized speed; for whole nodes, it may lead to faster trade spread and reduce the incidence of single pieces.

The Zcash co-founder Sean Bowe also evaluated the release, stating that the use of the Zakura Common shield wallet and the full node, including Zakura, would benefit from performance enhancement.

No upgrade of network rules

Another focus of this release is that Common does not need Zcash to upgrade the network. The library is open and can be accessed directly by developers in subsequent Zakura versions and compatible wallets, thus moving performance improvements faster to users without having to adjust the bottom web rules.

At the market level, ZEC has recently been active. It was reported that ZEC had recently risen for the first time since January 2018 to $800 and that since the release of Common prices had risen further to approximately $838.38.
