On 31 July, Wintermute, an encrypted money marketer, stated that as institutional investors concentrated their activities on a narrower range of digital assets, the next round of encrypted money (altseason) might only create fewer winners. In its report on off-site trade (OTC) traffic in the first half of 2026, Wintermute indicated that institutional trading opponents contributed 72 per cent of all their OTC platform cash flows in currencies, a record high. This is more than 61 per cent in the second half of 2025 and 59 per cent in the first half of the previous year. The top 10 non-stable currencies account for approximately 80.5 per cent of the total market value of non-bitcoins and non-stable currencies。
