Korea Dooshan Group spent 2.3 trillion won on SK Siltron plus semiconductor layout
According to Korean media reports, Doosan Group signed an agreement with the SK Group to acquire the semiconductor crystal circle manufacturer, SK Siltron. With the completion of the deal, Doosan is expected to further improve its competitiveness in the semiconductor industry on the basis of core operations such as energy and machinery. Dooshan Holdings Company, Dooshan, disclosed on 31 December that an agreement had been signed with the SK Group for the purchase of shares, which would buy SK Siltron 70.6 per cent of the SK stock held by SK in the amount of 2.3 trillion won. However, 29.4 per cent of the shares held by Choi Tae-jin, Chairman of the SK Group, were outside the scope of the acquisition. SK Siltron is the only semiconductor Silicon Crystal Circle manufacturer in Korea, with the third largest global market share in 12 inches.
