United States Embassy in Jordan: possible further escalation of the situation in the Middle East

On 1 August, the United States Embassy in Jordan issued a security warning on 1 August that the security situation in the Middle East region remained complex and could escalate further. The United States Embassy in Jordan recommends that United States citizens currently in the Middle East remain highly vigilant and prepare for the cancellation of possible flights, the phasing-out of airspace and the interruption of travel. United States citizens in areas outside the Middle East should reconsider travel to or through the region. The Embassy also recommended that United States citizens avoid travelling to United States military bases in Jordan and to “dangerous areas with significant police presence”。
