Iran confirmed the visit of Qatar but requested an explanation regarding the allegations in the Strait of Hormuz

On 10 July, the Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that a Qatari political delegation had arrived in Iran today to consult with Iranian officials and that Qatar ' s visit to Iran was intended to consolidate its position as a facilitator. However, after Qatar had previously filed a complaint with Iran regarding an incident in the Strait of Hormuz, United States forces launched a large-scale attack on a series of Iranian military and civilian targets on Wednesday and Thursday. The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of my country (Iran) expressed regret at the allegations made by Qatar, stating that it “is questionable, contrary to the principle of good-neighbourliness and unacceptable”. It is therefore appropriate for the Qatari side to explain during this visit why, with a clear understanding of article 5 of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, attempts are still being made to cooperate with the United States in bypassing Iran ' s designated shipping lanes and why there is a rush to accuse Iran without any communication with Iran.
