Coinbase: Chief of Legal Staff leaves before voting on the CLARITY bill

Paul Grewal, the legal director of Coinbase, announced his departure on 31 July, at a time when the United States Congress was preparing to revisit the coded market rules. The departure of Grewal expanded the roles of Molly Abraham and Ryan Vangrack. Grewal worked for six years in Coinbase and will continue to serve as a consultant and retain a seat on the board of the Coinbase National Trust. The change in personnel did not affect Coinbase ' s United States policy activities, but instead separated law enforcement from external strategies. Coinbase is currently facing proceedings before the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, which charges it with operating unregistered stock exchanges, brokers and clearing agencies. Coinbase denied these allegations and counter-attacked them through court documents and public comments. The Digital Asset Market Clarity Bill, supported by the company, was approved by the Senate Banking Commission on 14 May, with the aim of assigning encryption control to two federal market regulators。
