Bernstein: In the course of the year, Clarity Act will reduce the likelihood that SEC and CFTC will speed up the development of rules relating to encrypted currency
On 3 August, Bernstein indicated that the possible adoption of the Encrypted Currency Regulation Act of 2026 might accelerate the development of rules relating to encrypted currency by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The company expects that, if the bill is not finally passed, the regulator will advance the Project Cripto and provide guidance on the classification of tokens, decentrization (DeFi), self-hosting and innovation exemptions。
