Sources: The United States has consumed a large number of long-range precision missiles during the Iranian war

On 4 August, Reuters reported that three persons with relevant data revealed that the United States Army had consumed large stocks of high-precision long-range missiles during the five-month war with Iran, raising external concerns about the ability of the United States Army to prepare for future conflicts. These include, inter alia, the United States Army's surface-to-surface weapons, the Army's tactical missile system (ATACMs) and the Pre-defunct Missile (PrSM). Two of them said that the United States had used “almost all” of those weapons. There have been no prior reports of the extent to which the United States military's ATACMS missiles and the precision of the strike missile stockpile have been depleted. These long-range munitions are an important part of the United States military arsenal and allow the military to carry out precision strikes beyond a safe distance. Analysts have indicated that such weapons cost more than $1 million per unit, but sources have not revealed how many of these munitions remain in the United States. Kim Xian
