SharpLink CEO: Oppose EIP-8363, or weaken DeFi and ETH ' s primary yield advantage

On 7 August, SharpLink CEO Joseph Chalom wrote on platform X that the company opposed the EIP-8363 (Tapered Issuance Burn) proposal being discussed in the Taifeng community. The proposal is to gradually increase the destruction rate of the certificationer ' s incentive as the ETH pledge ratio increases and to reduce the new incentive to zero when about 50 per cent of ETH is pledged. Chalom stated that pledge proceeds were an important pricing basis for the DeFi market, that reductions in issuance could push up the cost of capital in the chain, weaken the original yield advantage of ETH compared to bitcoin and lead to a partial outflow of funds out of the tectonic area. SharpLink supports increasing ETH scarcity, but advocates relying on base cost destruction and growth in network use rather than changing current distribution mechanisms。
