Hackers attacked Hedera Sauce and stole over $5 million

The hackers stole more than $5 million by manipulating the price prophecies against the Sauce agreement in Hedera. As a result of the attack, HBAR prices fell by almost 3 per cent. The attackers quickly exchanged a variety of assets after they had received stolen funds through the Layer Zero bridge. According to Peck Shield, after borrowing nearly 6.6 million USDC and 35 million HBAR, the attackers exchanged tokens with SauceSwap. The attackers currently hold approximately 2068 ETH, valued at approximately $3.7 million, and together with 15.58 WBTC, stole more than $5 million in assets. The incident raised security concerns about decentralised financial (DeFi) applications, and the Hedera web team has yet to issue an official statement。
