Netanyahu thinks there's no risk of going against Trump in Gaza
Alon Pincas, a former Israeli diplomat, stated that Netanyahu absolutely needed a permanent war. Israel ' s rejection of the Gaza plan should be seen in the context of the Israeli elections of 27 October. Pincas says Netanyahu made a calculation that he thought there was no risk-- I don't know. He believed that he could openly confront Trump, because Trump was less concerned, because of timing, because Hamas had not yet disarmed, because he could do so with impunity.
