Vitalik updates the Taifung Road Map: privacy, post-quantifiable expansion and native Rollup became a new focus

On 10 August, Vitalik Buterin stated that it had compared the 2023 Taifung Road Map with the current Strawmap and that there was still a high degree of overlap in the overall direction, but that some of the priorities and technical paths had been clearly adjusted, including the upgrading of quantum security priorities, the weakening of VDFs and some EVM improvements, and that the old design had been replaced by a combination of two fork trees, PBTs and new state types. He noted that the most significant change at present in Strawmap was the emergence of a number of new topics not yet included in the 2023 Road Map, reflecting a shift in the emphasis on research and development in Etherak. These new priorities include stronger primary privacy support, radical expansion in the back quantum context, streamlined norms oriented towards formalization, Blob and Gas futures, native Rollup, and more open design space around the future shape of EVM. Vitalik also stressed that the idea of expansion of the Taifung is moving from “full expansion of all activities” to “designing a special mechanism that is more easily extended for specific high-load scenarios” and that the formalization of the STARK certification and the acceleration of artificial intelligence is considered an important basis for the future of the agreement.
