The Coreum bridge was attacked and nearly 200,000 XRPs were stolen

On 12 August, the cross-link bridge connecting XRP Ledger to Coreum was attacked on 9 August, when the attackers stole about 199,916 XRPs through a loophole, leading to a decrease in the balance of assets of the bridge from approximately 200,410 XRPs to only 493.5 XRPs. The analysis showed that the attack was not directed at the XRP Ledger itself, nor was it related to private key leaks, but rather used the Coreum cross-chain bridge to verify logical loopholes. The attackers forged a false deposit operation to make the bridge system recognize it as a real deposit and triggered the other end of the bridge to send the real XRP to the attackers。
