MEDIA: THE WHITE HOUSE INTENDS TO EXPAND AI REGULATION, OPEN SOURCE MODEL OR INCLUDE TESTING FRAMEWORKS

On 13 August, according to sources quoted by WIRED, the United States technology media, the Trump government ' s new artificial intelligence guidelines will be revised and the regulation of artificial intelligence models extended. The White House announced this month that a set of artificial intelligence frameworks had been developed under which the United States Laboratory Development Frontline AI model would be tested by the Federal Government for safety before being released. The framework has not yet been made public by the Government, nor has it reportedly been planned. At present, the AI framework only addresses the so-called “closed source model” developed by companies such as Anthropic and OpenAI. However, a White House official disclosed that the framework was expected to cover open source models in the coming months. In short, once open source models reach the same level of “frontline” capacity as the Mythos class model of Anthropic and the GPT-5.6 of OpenAI, they will be included in the framework and tested before release.
