Establishment of mechanisms for political-military cooperation between Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan

On 13 August, the Turkish Ministry of Defence stated that Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan would establish a mechanism for political and military cooperation, in accordance with the common defence agreement signed last week, and would deepen cooperation in the defence industry. The mechanism would cover the Ministers of Defence, Foreign Affairs and the Army Chief of General Staff of the three countries. In addition, the three countries plan to conduct joint military exercises, which may cover joint production and technology-sharing in the defence industry. On 7 August, the leaders of the three countries signed the Mecca Common Defence Agreement in Saudi Arabia, and an armed attack on either of the three countries will be considered an attack on all of them。
