MASK AND ALTMANN ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A DISPUTE OVER GPT-5.6

On the occasion of the launch of GPT-5.6, an open exchange between Elon Mask and Ortmann, founder of OpenAI, broke out on social platforms. Mask first wrote that “he raised fraud to an entirely new level”. Shortly afterwards, he transmitted a copy of the transcript of the previous United States Congress hearing in Altman and mocked him as saying, "What he said." The matter's reference is to fraud, “he's passion for fraud may be more than anyone alive”. In response, Altman responded by saying, "Man, you're the one who's really taking the short-term space data centre to the open market." Then again, Altman published the latest GPT model and further countered, saying, “There are many benchmark tests that indicate that GPT-5.6 SOL is the best model in the world today, but the most reliable way to judge is that Elon has started targeting me again.”
