GOOGLE WILL ALLOW USERS TO REMOVE VISIBLE WATERMARKS FROM THEIR AI-GENERATED CONTENT

On August 15, Google announced that users could now remove visible watermarks from their AI-generated content (including pictures, videos and songs). It made it clear that this would not affect the invisible Syntid watermarks and the metadata associated with the C2PA standard. Google Gemini Vice President Josh Woodward posted that the switch would apply to the Nano Banana, Omni and Lyria models. He noted that the settings for closing the visible watermark would be provided in Gemini and Google Video Flow, and that support for the search function would soon be online. The feature will be rolled out inland in the next few days, and users can go to Setup > Media Watermark to open or close visible watermarks. Google also opened a new library called Credentio, which allows developers to embed local validation mechanisms in their own applications。
