Harvard's warehouse SpaceX. $2.2 billion in investment highlights the long-term layout
On 16 August, according to Fox News, the Harvard Investment Department disclosed its holdings of SpaceX $2.2 billion. Harvard Management reported the holdout in a regulatory document on Friday, making SpaceX the largest single stock hold in its $4.3 billion United States equity portfolio. The record IPO in SpaceX in June has brought considerable returns to the tertiary endowment funds, which have acquired the company's share through venture investments — some of which were deployed more than a decade ago. Harvard is not the only university investor who has benefited from SpaceX. The University of California investment department disclosed in a document this week about $1 billion in holding stock, and North Carolina University and St. Louis University held shares in the company.
