Novig, the predictive market platform, sued Wisconsin, arguing that sports contracts should be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the CFTC
On 17 August, Novig, the sports event forecast market platform, filed an action in the Western District Federal Court of Wisconsin, against Josh Kaul, State Attorney General. In April, Wisconsin filed charges against such platforms as Kalshi, Polymarket, Robinhod, Crypto.com and Coinbase, alleging that their sports contracts violated state prohibitions and constituted a “public hazard”, and Novig anticipated that he himself would be sued for pre-emptive action. Novig, at the legal level, argued that his sports contract was a swap under the Merchandise Trading Act and should be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the CTC。
