Over $2 trillion in digital assets at risk

The `quantum mass migration' is approaching, with more than $2 trillion of digital assets at risk and almost the total value of the entire encrypted market. Researchers are making progress towards the development of quantum computers capable of undermining the mathematical assumptions that currently protect encrypted currency and other block chain assets. Christopher Smith, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Quantus, stated that the entire digital asset industry needed to replace its encryption infrastructure before quantum computers arrived. Smith warned that digital assets over $2 trillion were protected by elliptical curve cryptography, which had been considered vulnerable to quantum computers more than 30 years ago。
