Korea Regulatory Body decided to block Polymarket access
According to digital Asset, on 18 August, the Korea Broadcasting Media Communications Review Commission decided to impose access barriers on Polymarket, the predictive market platform, as it offered a “winner-for-win” trade around uncontrollable events such as politics, sports, elections, weather and so forth, and as to promote gambling. Polymarket argued that the platform used a non-hosting P2P and smart contract model and did not directly manage user funds, but the regulator stated that decentrization of technology or service models could not justify circumventing Korean law。
