Trump suspended Canadian tariffs and stock market futures stalled

The United States stock market declined further on Wednesday after Trump suspended tariffs on Canadian commodities. The Dow Jones Industry Average Index and Standard & Poor ' s 500 Futures are close to flat, while the NASDAQ 100 Index contract increases slightly. As bond yields and oil prices rose, Wall Street was going through a loss week, a trend exacerbated by the sale of a tech unit on Tuesday. The fall in the Asian market also failed to bring about a relief, with Japan having a 3 per cent decrease in the Japanese yen index and Korea having a 5 per cent decline in the KOSPI index. Trump published information in social media that he had suspended 50 per cent of the Canadian tariff for three days, based on the fact that an agreement had been reached between Canada and the United States. While experts indicated that the economic impact of these tariffs was limited, they represented an important signal for the upcoming negotiations on the United States-Mega Trade Agreement. Investors will be provided with minutes of the July meeting of the Fed later on Tuesday and are expected to provide leads on inflation, policy and other key economic data. Target, Lowe's and TJX will also provide insight into spring and summer consumer trends。
