SINGAPORE POLICE WORKED WITH CEX TO STOP 145 POTENTIAL VICTIMS OF FRAUD FROM LOSING OVER $4.2 MILLION

On 12 July, the Singapore Police Anti-Fraud Centre and Network Investigation Service, in a six-week joint anti-fraud operation from 16 April to 31 May 2026, worked with Coinbase, Coinhako, Gemini, Independent Reserve, OkX, StraitsX and Upbit to identify potential victims of fraud through the Chainalysis and TRM Labs' block chain analysis tool and to prevent potential losses of over $4.2 million through more than 145 targeted interventions by telephone and on-site. Coinbase Singapore wrote in X on 10 July that it had cooperated with the Singapore police to prevent over 145 persons from losing more than $4.2 million as a result of fraud. The Singapore Police indicated that it would continue to work with the Encrypted Currency Exchange and other private sectors to combat cybercrime。
