A French couple abducted for possession of encrypted currency such as bitcoin, two suspects arrested

On 21 August, a couple in the province of Lund, France, were held hostage after having been broken into by criminals. The other side demanded the surrender of a large amount of bitcoin and other encrypted currency. At about 4 a.m. local time, the man was subsequently found naked in Solférino town, with multiple cuts on his body; the woman was found in another vehicle in another province far away. Following the incident, the French gendarmerie blocked the road and opened an investigation. Two men have been arrested, and the cases are handled by the Bordeaux Inter-Regional Special Court and the National Office of the Public Prosecutor of Organized Crime。
