Lighter CEO: DeFi should not be the opposite of regulators, AI or the promotion of financial democratization

On 21 August, Vladimir Novakovski, Chief Executive Officer of Lighter, stated at the inaugural meeting of the CFTC Innovation Advisory Board in the United States that DeFi had long been misperceptive and should not be seen as the opposite of the regulator. He noted that chain books recorded in a verifiable manner in DeFi transactions could assist regulators in their work on transparency, consumer protection and market equity. Novakovski stated that decentrization, verifiable finance was expected to be an important component of the future financial infrastructure of the United States, especially in the areas of network security and operational resilience, and that industry should promote more technology to open-source, verifiable technology depots. In addition, he said that AI had the opportunity to promote financial democratization and that users could build a package of transactions or investment strategies through AI, based on their own judgement in areas such as macroeconomics, industry and so forth, whereas such capacity had been primarily directed at high net value persons and professional fund managers. Novakovski noted that the main risks faced by AI in the financial field were consumer protection risks, such as users ' lack of understanding of the practical role of the AI model or its misleading promotion. It is therefore necessary to establish appropriate sandbox mechanisms and validate the validity and pro forma validation of the models before the AI model is applied to consumers on a large scale。
