Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena S.p.A. (BMPSY) has recently discussed its strategic consolidation plan, aimed at creating a leading Italian bank and wealth management group. The Bank's Chief Executive Officer, Luigi Lovalio, stated that, over the past few years, Monte Paschi had completed one of the most notable transformations in the European banking sector, restored profitability, re-established capital strength and regained strategic freedom. The merger will result in a unified industrial project for Banco BPM and Banca Generali, through two voluntary open exchange offers, aimed at creating a strong and comprehensive Italian financial platform that integrates commercial banks, business investment banks, wealth management and insurance capabilities。
