KOREA FINANCIAL REGULATORY AUTHORITY DEPLOYS REAL TIME AI ENCRYPTION MONITORING SYSTEM

The Korea Financial Supervision Service announced the deployment of a real-time AI system to scan transactional data, news and online content to mark suspected encrypted price manipulation. The platform combines generation AI with machine learning and automates a large volume of transactional data previously required to be manually checked by investigators. The system first searches for assets with abnormally changing prices or volume of transactions and then compares activities with models previously investigated by regulators so that staff focus on transactions that are similar to those known to take the form of market abuse. The system also incorporates online outreach into the monitoring process, analysing text, video subtitles and audio from YouTube, Internet forums and private chats, and checking for pre-transactions, false information or coordinated buy-in recommendations。
