The Sandbox: A gap in the SAND cross-chain bridge has shut down Base, BSC cross-chain

On 22 August, the Sandbox official confirmed that the SAND cross-chain bridge was leaking and that the incident affected the Base, BNB Smart Chain network, which was under-represented in the SAND total supply of 0.01 per cent. The SAND on the Ether, Polygon chain was unaffected and the user wallet was not invaded. The attackers used the loopholes to create SAND without collateral, and the project had closed the cross-chain function of the two chains, isolated the relevant SAND assets and reminded users not to trade that portion of the coin. The team completed the incident snapshot and is developing a compensation programme for the users of the mobility pool, which will be followed by the release of a full incident round-up report。
