Meta faces a $1.4 trillion fine and is accused of violating the rights and interests of minors

Four states in the United States jointly charged Meta with using addiction algorithms to induce minors and conceal their negative impact on the mental health of adolescents, claiming up to $1.4 trillion; 29 states in the United States have filed a lawsuit in that regard. At the same time, the European Commission issued a preliminary report under the Digital Services Act requiring Meta to modify addictive designs such as “automated play” “infinite rolling”, otherwise facing a large fine of 6 per cent of global annual income.
