Registration of legal entities in five major encryption exchanges in Korea

As of the end of July 2026, the Korea Federation reported that the five main encryption exchanges registered 6,590 corporate accounts, of which Bitumb headed 3,280 and Upbit 2,086, representing 81.4 per cent of the total. The number of legal person accounts that have completed customer identification (KYC) is 711, or 10.8 per cent, compared to 29 active accounts that were actually traded, pledged or filled in general legal persons during the month. The legal persons concerned together held approximately 43.38 billion won of encrypted assets, of which 62.4 per cent were held through Upbit. The Korea Regulatory Authority is moving forward with the phased opening of legal entities to use the Korean Won for encrypted asset investment and financial management transactions。
