Data on foreign accounts in five major encrypted exchanges in Korea
As of the end of July 2026, Korea ' s five major encrypted exchanges had 566,352 accounts for foreigners, but only 517 or 0.09 per cent, or 0.01 per cent, had completed customer identification (KYC). Bithumb has the largest number of foreign accounts, 484,846, but is currently active at 0. Foreigners still hold approximately 2.580 billion won of deposits and 30.36 billion won of encrypted assets on the above-mentioned exchange. According to reports, most accounts may have been registered in 2021 before Koreans tightened restrictions on foreign trade。
