Media: ITI against the inclusion of light modules in the Cover List

According to United States authorities Daily, the United States Information Technology Industry Commission (ITI) formally expressed its objection to the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) last week, urging the FCC not to include foreign-made light modules in the restricted list, representing the latest statement by the United States science and technology industry organizations on the incident, and to further reduce the probability that the light module “one-size-fits-all” would be incorporated into Covered List. In its most recent submission to the FCC, ITI clearly recommended that Covered List should continue to focus on entities or products with a clear link to foreign counterparts in a “precision, risk-based” manner, rather than broadly covering the entire technical class from credible enterprises. More importantly, ITI has singled out the inclusion of phototransceivers (optical transceevers) in the Covered List, particularly against the inclusion of all foreign-produced light modules as a whole。
