The U.S. Treasury has established the Quantum Safety Task Force to accelerate the financial system's resistance to quantum transformation

On 25 August, the United States Department of the Treasury recently announced the establishment of the Quantum Safety Preparedness Task Force, which will lead the financial industry in the transition to anti-quant code technology to enhance security protection for sensitive data, critical infrastructure and the digital economy. The Secretary of the Treasury, Mr. Bercent, said that the United States must be at the forefront of technological security and that the working group would ensure that the financial system remained secure, stable and competitive under the shock of new technologies. The Working Group brings together government agencies, financial institutions and technical suppliers to focus on three main tasks: promoting back-quant code migration in the financial sector, improving third-party supply chain security preparedness and assessing the risks posed by digital assets and emerging technologies. The Ministry of Finance has indicated that, as soon as future quantum computing matures, it will be able to crack the existing encryption system, and that there will be long-term threats to financial data, payment systems, digital identities and market infrastructure. Therefore, the early deployment of Quantum Password technology is a key step in maintaining economic security and the resilience of the financial system。
