Select Hyperliquid Policy Center to urge US SEC and CFTC to adopt a unified framework for sustainable contracts

On 25 August, the Hyperliquid Policy Center (HPC) submitted comments to SEC and CFTC in the United States of America, stating that the United States CFTC and SEC had been working over the past year to find answers to the category of sustainable contracts. According to HPC, a permanent stock contract with the traditional characteristics of a futures contract could be classified as a securities futures. HPC urges the United States SEC and CFTC to establish a unified system for the classification of long-term contracts, which should group the same product, whether with reference to bitcoin, crude oil or single securities, on the basis of the characteristics of each contract and the manner in which it is traded. HPC required the United States SEC and CFTC to take the following four measures: (1) Confirm that the definition of a securities futures includes the established characteristics of a futures contract and that a permanent cash settlement stock contract with these characteristics may be listed as a securities futures. 2. Retain the flexibility currently available to trade places with regard to product listing decisions. 3. Consistency in the classification of the two agencies is maintained so that the same threshold classification can be obtained for long-term contracts regardless of the asset involved. Modernization of the securities futures framework to revitalize the category and adapt to the new product structure。
