Trump signed an executive order to restrict some foreign energy equipment from entering the United States grid

On Wednesday, 27 August, the President of the United States, Trump, signed an emergency executive order prohibiting the United States, on national security grounds, from procuring or installing foreign-made large-scale electrical system equipment and related software, including critical equipment such as transformers, that may pose part of a network security or operational risk. The Executive Order also allows the Minister of Energy to impose restrictions, if necessary, on the equipment that has been installed and requires the Ministry of Energy to establish rules for implementation within 120 days, but not for local distribution facilities. This may benefit local United States electrical equipment manufacturers, including SolarEdge, Enphase Energy and Tesla (TSLA.O)。
