Trump signed an executive order to change Lake Ontario to "U.S. Lake."

On 28 August, at local time, on 27 August, United States President Trump announced that Lake Ontario would be renamed “Lake America” as of that date and signed the relevant executive order. Trump indicated that the executive order would instruct the Minister of the Interior, Doug Bergum, and the Ministry of the Interior to update the Geographic Names Information System. Lake Ontario, one of the five Great Lakes in North America, is located on the United States-Canada border, with the Lake area bordering Ontario, Canada, to the north, and New York, United States, to the south.
