California's Meme Coin Bill AB 2409 was passed by both Houses to prohibit public officials from issuing and making it available to residents

The United States Meme Coin Regulatory Act AB 2409 has been passed in the State House of Representatives and Senate and is currently awaiting signature by the Governor. The Act prohibits public officials and government employees from issuing meme coin and from online trading with residents of California since 1 January 2027. The bill, if signed by the Governor, would be the first state-level United States law to systematically legislate on meme coin。
