The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran condemns the new United States economic threats and calls upon all States not to implement them

On 28 August, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the new round of economic measures introduced by the United States as “economic terrorism”. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran stated that Operation Economic Storm, carried out in Washington, D.C., was intended to inflict suffering on ordinary Iranians and that its actions constituted international crimes and crimes against humanity. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran stated that the sanctions were contrary to international law and fundamental rights, including the right to medical care and food, and called upon all States not to implement them and not to recognize any consequences arising therefrom. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran stated that, in the face of joint military and economic actions by the United States and Israel, Tehran would defend the country by all available means.
