European Union officials: no Russian attack on NATO

An EU senior official stated on 27 September that European intelligence agencies had not found any signs that Russia was planning to launch an attack against NATO European member States. According to earlier United States sources, United States Central Intelligence Director Ratcliffe warned the Russian side not to attack NATO members. The Russian side and the President of the United States, Trump, denied this information on 27 January. According to an EU official who requested anonymity: “In general, European intelligence agencies have not seen the risk of Russian attacks on European countries, and this assessment has not changed.” The official further clarified that the same assessment applied to the European member States of NATO and that no Russian preparations for the attack had been detected。
