SK Telecom splits AI data centre operations into SK Horizon, with $2.2 billion to be introduced

On 29 August, according to news from the Korean Federation, SK Telecom split the operation of the artificial intelligence data centre into a new entity, “SK Horizon”, and plans to introduce $2.2 billion in external funds, with the break-off expected to be completed on 1 February 2027, with the possible involvement of the KKR, IMM Investment and Stonebridge Capital consortium。
