Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran: Memorandum of Understanding with the United States is in “crisis” phase

On 13 July, local time, the spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Baghae, stated that the memorandum of understanding with the United States was “unquestionably in a crisis phase”. It indicated that Iran would not comply with the memorandum of understanding as long as the United States continued to violate its commitments. It also indicated that Iran had consulted with Oman only on the Strait of Hormuz in Muscat and did not plan to discuss other issues. Baghaei indicated that Iran was consulting Oman to establish a mechanism to ensure the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz. However, because of the pressure on Oman, this objective has not been achieved. (In Russian)
