The Iranian Revolutionary Guards prevented 30 illegal ships from crossing the Strait of Hormuz last week
On 30 August, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps indicated that since 22 August 2026, 30 illegal vessels had attempted to illegally pass through the Strait of Hormuz, all of which had been blocked by the Iranian armed forces. During this period, all limited access following approval, coordination and payment by the Islamic Republic of Iran has proceeded normally. Prior to the outbreak of the conflict, more than 1,500 tankers and 1,700 merchant ships had passed through the route, a figure that indicated that movement and trade had been severely stalled in the current situation. The Revolutionary Guards also stated that there was no data to support the claim regarding mine clearance operations (as claimed by the United States) and that the United States had not provided any relevant evidence to date.
