The U.S. Department of State adjusts Israel ' s travel warnings to allow families of government employees to travel to

Newsweek reported that on 26 August, the United States Department of State updated its travel warning against Israel, stating that families of United States Government employees were currently allowed to travel to Israel together. However, according to the United States Department of State, some parts of Israel are at higher risk due to regional instability. The travel warnings state that United States Government employees working in Israel are not allowed to travel to areas north of Route 85 to Route 90 (Sector South) and to areas along Route 87; to areas within 7 miles of the Gaza Strip (approximately 11.3 kilometres); and to areas within 1.5 miles of the Israeli-Egyptian border (approximately 2.4 kilometres), except in the vicinity of the Taba border crossing.
