Adviser to the Supreme Leader of Iran: There is no substitute for the Strait of Hormuz, and there is no concession

On 13 July, the adviser to the Iranian Supreme Leader stated: “No Iranian believes that we should abandon the Strait of Hormuz. We defend the Straits of Hormuz so that in the future we do not have to be forced to pay ransom to the enemy for the passage of our ships. There are no alternatives to the strategic position of the Strait of Hormuz and its security and economic importance. We will never back down on the Strait of Hormuz.”
