LLM Token ' s expenditure index fell to 97 cents, down by more than 50 per cent from its height in May
The LLM Token expenditure index, published by the United States market information agency, Silicon Data, fell to 97 cents per million Token on 31 August, setting it at the lowest level in history since its inception at the end of last year, down by more than 50 per cent from a point of $2.05 in May. The open-source models Kimi K3, OpenAI, which were launched on the dark side of the month, reduced the price of the ChatGPT-5.6 series, and the introduction of dynamic pricing mechanisms by head manufacturers, constitute price downside factors. Token’s falling prices put pressure on model developers like OpenAI, Anthropic and Google. Seez Group Investment Managers suggested that the base model enterprises shift to enhanced distribution channels, memory and context capabilities to cope with the competitive erosion of open source models。
