Coinbase is seeking control of at least three oil fields in Venezuela
On 2 September, a co-founder of Coinbase, Fred Ehrsam, was seeking control of at least three oil fields in Venezuela, citing sources from Bloomberg. At present, the United States Government is reshaping the Venezuelan oil industry and plans to replace some Maduro-era operators with investors close to the Trump camp. According to the source, these oil fields are currently operated by Alvorada Heavy Industries Ltda, located in the Boca, Guico and Guara blocks of Orinoco Belt in Venezuela. United States officials are considering revoking existing contracts for the operation of these oil fields. Since the relevant negotiations have not yet been made public, informed persons have requested anonymity. Other adjustments to the existing oil contract are expected this week. On that occasion, the United States Secretary of Energy, Chris Wright, will visit Caracas and plan to showcase up to 17 oil and gas agreements。
