American media: Oman rejected Iran ' s offer to collect fees in the Strait of Hormuz

On 4 September, the New York Post reported that Oman had implicitly rejected Iran ' s offer to collect services from commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. According to informed regional officials, Oman refused to agree to charge for environmental and security services, even if of a voluntary nature, a prior statement by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards that the parties had reached an agreement was untrue. A United States official stated that the terms of the previously proposed income-sharing agreement in Iran had not yet been finalized, even in Tehran. Earlier, following talks in Tehran between Iranian Foreign Minister Aragzi and Oman ' s Foreign Minister Bousaidi, Iranian Revolutionary Guard spokesman Hussein stated that the two countries had reached an agreement on the delimitation of the waters of the Strait of Hormuz and the distribution of revenues。
